Wren Clinefelter (They/Them) is a Minneapolis-based comics artist and writer. They graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in May 2025 with a BFA in Comic Arts and two minors in Creative Writing and Art History.
Using a mix of traditional and digital media, Wren creates dramatic, high-contrast comics spanning the Scifi and Horror genres, zeroing in on stories that center Queer identities and narratives.

Kill the Messenger

Haunted by a vengeful demon that wants to control his mind and body, Liam Hightower must investigate the dark forces preying on Lourburn, Minnesota before they consume the town, and him along with it.
Kill the Messenger is a 300-page horror fantasy graphic novel for adult audiences. Evoking the gritty horror of stories like Supernatural and Old Gods of Appalachia, Kill the Messenger explores themes of transformation, survival, and resilience in the face of monstrous odds.

Encountering unexpected dangers, old wounds, and secrets best left unspoken, they will have to choose between preserving their humanity and escaping with their lives.

The Marshes
Inspired by the frozen lakes of Northern Minnesota, The Marshes is an 11 page horror minicomic following a group of children who realize there’s a malevolent presence hiding among the cat tails.
